Social host laws linked with less frequent underage drinking in private settings


















Many states and local communities have enacted social host
(SH) laws to reduce underage drinking in private settings. These laws hold the
adults responsible when underage drinks consume alcoholic drinks on their property
and the details of laws vary among states.
