Special Circle Of Friends

First I would like to state for the record that all my friends are very special to me. That I always tried not to make one more special than the other. They each have their own qualities that bring something special into my life each and every day. Whether it is their sense of humor or their ability to give advice. Each one of them holds a special place in my heart. I am glad to be friends with each one of them. This includes all my friends both on and off line.

However, among the many friends there is a special group, a circle of friends. You could say we belong to a select society if you will. We share love, laughter and tears. It is a society where there is really only one membership requirement. It is a requirement we all have met. It is a requirement that no one should ever have to meet. Our circle is one that you do not wish to join this society. For if we all had our way we would not belong to it either. For your journey starts at disbelief and takes you on a lot o…

They Actually Do Hold Stupid Water Meetings

Never thought they would but they do hold meetings now for it. Us women knew men were starting to drink that stupid water when their ah well memory shall we say started failing or they were acting stranger than normal which is hard to tell. Depends on your definition of normal. We knew they had sold this water at Wal-Mart by the case. Now we have evidence they hold meetings. Yes it is true ladies, they now hold meetings for the stupid water drinking. The chapters name, what else of course, Men Who Drink Stupid Water. Where are these held? Yep, you guessed it at the Wal-Mart parking lot at midnight. Several sightings have been reported throughout the United States. It’s like a mass cult or something going on. Reminds me of the pod people. Umm could be on to something here.

Latest round of events was enough for us. We figured it could not get stranger or worse. We were wrong. Yes men I admitted it we were wrong. Not as wrong as the male population lately but wrong. Ok, n…

I am urging you to sign this petition so that we can ask of the community to rid themselves of this terrable misunderstanding, and open their minds to what we have to say. THE INFO I FOUND ON FUR FARMS IS SICKENING. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH COURAGE TO PUT IT ON THIS PETITION. IF U WANT TO READ IT, GO ON . IT IS NOT NORMAL!! now i will write something less graphic about this horrific thing. the stuff i read made me cry, there are videos as well.
Fur farms are terrible things, where animals are trapped cruelly in tiny cages where they can barely move and then they are horrificly killed in the most inhumane ways. Skinning, Clubbing, Hanging, and many other unecessary procedures are done to kill the animals. People step on the animals necks so they cant breath and kill them. They are still alive when they skin them, they let them die the most painful deaths. Even dogs are getting killed for fur!! A hidden camera proved everything that happened. The Fur Farm workers do not care at all for the animals and then just chuck them in a pile to let them bleed…

Help Wildhorse Ranch Rescue Save Horses from Abuse

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Sponsored by:
InSpirit Life Coaching
Wildhorse Ranch Rescue ( was founded in 1995 by Kimberly Meagher, a single mother of two young children. Kim and her children ran the rescue privately saving horses and mules until WHRR became a 501(c)(3) charity in 2001.
While raising her children on her own, she worked tirelessly to rescue horses, mules and donkeys from abuse, neglect, slaughter and premature death. The plight of the homeless horse became her mission. She eventually went through all of her own money to help fund the rescue, including her retirement fund. The eventual loss of Kim's job did not help. The struggle every day to pay for feed, medical care when necessary and monthly bills can be staggering.
WHRR relies solely on donations and the kindness of those who give of their time to help raise funds, run events and care for the herd. With approximately 40 volunteers, the herd of horses and mules are fed twice …

Swine Flu Symptoms & Prevention

There’ a new flu in town. I personally think the media can do an excellent job of scaring the daylights out of people with something like this–from the looks of the newspapers you’d think this was some deadly apocalyptic pandemic worthy of the big screen and an action hero. That said, this particular flu does have its troublesome aspects. It may not affect people any more severely than the common seasonal flu does–and we don’t go into media overdrive about the common seasonal flu even though around 36,000 people in the US die from flu-related causes every year. But what worries officials is that a new strain of the flu virus–especially one that has leapt from animals to humans–can spread quickly because people do not have natural immunity. The geographical spread of multiple community outbreaks, plus the somewhat unusual age groups affected, are matters of concern to officials.
About the new flu. Swine flu, is a contagious respiratory disease that affects pigs. It is caused by a type-A…

Women Worldwide Need Clean Water

Sponsored by: Water For People

The evidence is clear: helping women in poor communities translates into benefits throughout an entire community. And one of the best ways to help women is also one of the simplest -- give them access to clean water and adequate sanitation.

A lack of these resources undermines the health, survival, and livelihood of women and the communities they live in. For example, in rural Malawi, less than 30 percent have adequate latrines and hand-washing facilities. As a result the population lives with regular outbreaks of cholera and typhoid fever and inevitably has an average lifespan of only 40 years. How can a woman live up to her full potential when she is constantly crippled by the devastating consequences of polluted water and unsafe conditions?

In addition, the average distance that women in developing countries walk to collect water per day is 4 miles and the average weight that women carry on their heads is approximately 44 pounds. This is time better inve…

Send Bed Nets to Refugees in Africa for World Malaria Day

Send Bed Nets to Refugees in Africa for World Malaria Day
Sponsored by: Nothing But Nets

A few quarters here, five dollars there. They go toward coffee, newspapers, lunch … but they could also go toward saving a family from malaria.
From now until World Malaria Day, April 25, the UN Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign is working with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to send 275,000 life-saving nets to protect African refugees from malaria—the #1 killer of refugees in Africa. And we need your help to make it happen.
We know things are especially tough right now. We're all looking for ways to save and spend our money wisely. But we also believe that $10 to send a net and save a life is a great bargain. Just $10 – that's bus fare for a week or a movie ticket – can buy a bed net, send it to Africa, and show a family how to properly hang it.
It's that easy. Get creative, grab your friends and family, and pledge to raise funds to send bed nets to refugees in Africa for World Mala…

Expel the Hormones from School Milk!

Target: U.S. Congress
Sponsored by: Food and Water Watch
The federal nutrition programs are a major provider of milk to our nation's school-age children. According to the National Milk Producers Federation, nearly 430 million gallons of milk were distributed through the National School Breakfast, Lunch and Special Milk programs during the 2005-2006 school year. Unfortunately, a significant amount of this milk may have been produced with artificial growth hormones.

The artificial growth hormone rBGH, used to increase milk production, is unhealthy for cows and may be linked with some types of cancer in humans. RBGH is already banned in some countries, and U.S. consumers are increasingly opting for milk produced without it. Now, companies may be looking to school lunch programs as an outlet for milk consumers don't want.

We can't let pharmaceutical companies and corporate agribusiness dictate what's best for our kids! Urge Congress to ensure all schools have the option to c…

Designate Critical Habitat for the Endangered Florida Panther
Target: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of the Interior, President Obama
Sponsored by: Conservancy of Southwest Florida
The Florida panther is one of the most endangered animals in the world – current estimates place the population at only 80 to 100 individuals. Unfortunately, 45,000 acres in the panther's remaining habitat – an area twice the size of Miami – is currently under consideration for intensive development.
Habitat loss is the greatest threat to the Florida panther's survival, and science suggests that the lands currently in conservation do not provide enough suitable habitat area to support even the limited number of existing panthers.
The Florida panther was listed as an endangered species 41 years ago, but critical habitat has never been established – even though the Endangered Species Act requires the designation of critical habitat for endangered species.
Panther habitat is disappearing, and we…

Don't Kill Urban Coyotes, Enact Stronger Urban Planning Instead!

Sensationalist news reports across the country have been documenting a rise in coyote attacks on humans in urban areas. But the real problem isn't coyotes attacking humans, it's human suburban sprawl that increasingly takes over the habitat of wild animals like coyotes.
Urge your governor to work with your state's legislature and local county commissioners to ensure that humans don't further encroach on wild lands!

Please help join the fight against cancer. No one deserves to deal with this deadly disease. So many innocent lives destroyed, they should not be given this death sentence.

Ensure New Global Warming Act Remains Strong

Target: U.S. House of Representatives
Sponsored by: Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
Democratic Representatives Henry Waxman and Ed Markey have just introduced the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 into Congress. The act is comprehensive energy legislation that, if passed, will create millions of new clean energy jobs, save consumers hundreds of billions of dollars in energy costs, enhance America's energy independence and cut global warming pollution.

The discussion draft of the bill sets a nationwide standard for renewable electricity production, establishes a federal low carbon fuel standard and calls for a 20 percent cut in overall emissions from 2005 levels by 2020, among other things.

Sign on to support the Democrats' efforts to tackle global warming! Urge your Representative to ensure that the strictest energy standards are maintained throughout the House discussion of the bill!

Adoption Dog Stomped to Death by Soldier

st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) }
On March 3rd, 2009, in El Paso, Tx at Fort Bliss, a soldier adopted 2 dogs from Pet Guardian Angel-an adoption center. Tinkerbelle was a golden retriever and Wrigley, a mixed breed.
Within a few weeks of the adoption, the soldier horrifically stomped, kicked, and beat Tinkerbelle to death. Stop for one moment and imagine the pain and suffering that Tinkerbell and Wrigley endured as they were brutally attacked. Tinkerbelle was gruesomely murdered, blow-by-blow, kick-by-kick, and beaten to death. The soldier's wife was there and did not stop her husband. How long and how much pain did Tinkerbelle withstand until she took her last breath? Wrigley got away, but was kicked so badly that he was taken to a veterinary clinic and had extensive surgery done on his hind leg.
This type of behavior should not be tolerated by somebody whose job it is to protect our country. The soldier in question …

Ban the Gas Chamber for Animals in Michigan!

Target: Michigan House
Sponsored by: American Humane Association

Michigan House Bill 4263, the Humane Euthanasia of Shelter Animals Act, would ensure that when the state's unwanted, sick or unadoptable shelter animals have to be euthanized, the procedure will only be done by injection of sodium pentobarbital. This method is called euthanasia by injection.

The American Humane Association considers euthanasia by injection to be the only acceptable and humane means of euthanasia for animals in animal shelters.

Even though a majority of the shelters in the state use euthanasia by injection, 12 still use outdated, inhumane gas chambers. Shelter workers overwhelmingly wish to hold and comfort a frightened animal in its final moments of life. That act may be the only kindness the animal has ever known.

In contrast, even with vigilant oversight, euthanizing any animal by means of a carbon monoxide or dioxide gas chamber is both severely inhumane to medium and large animals, and demoralizing…
